2009 Regional Knowledge Bowl

Equity in Education Speaker Series

The students in your classrooms can come from many different worlds, worlds that may not be familiar to you. Don't miss this exciting Equity in Education series that explores strategies to increase academic success across all cultures:

• Uncover biases that may be barriers to success
• Explore strategies for working effectively across cultures
• Create an action plan that addresses these issues in your schools

Each session will feature a speaker who will discuss cultural cues that are relevant in working with specific populations, including African American (January 29), Latino (February 12), South Pacific Islander (March 12), and Muslim (May 14).

Time: 9-3pm
Location: PSESD
Cost: $95 per session, $350 for the entire series.
Clock Hours/Credit: 5 clock hours, $10; 2 SU credits, $70; (per session).
