Department of Early Learning "Just for Kids" Website
Dedicated to fun, educational information and activities for young children in Washington, including tips for parents and caregivers to encourage discussion and exploration with children. DEL launched this site during October 2008 to acknowledge Family Involvement in Education Month, as proclaimed by Gov. Chris Gregoire.

Washington Higher Education Coordinating Board's College Bound Scholarship Program for 7th & 8th Graders
The College Bound Scholarship offers hope and an incentive for students and families who otherwise might not consider college an option because of the cost. The scholarship covers college tuition, fees and books for students in low-income families who sign a pledge in 7th or 8th grade promising to graduate from high school and demonstrate good citizenship.

OSPI's Internet Safety Brochure
OSPI has prepared Family Safety Guidelines for the internet. There are specific things you can do to help keep your own teens safe. Start by getting involved! Educate yourself on how the internet works and keep tabs on your child's computer use. Translated into Cambodian, Korean, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Ukranian and Vietnamese.

Education Week's Diplomas Count 2008
This report examines states' efforts to forge stronger connections between precollegiate and postsecondary education as well as providing mapping tools and graduation briefs for each state. The briefs are special policy reports that feature detailed, state-specific data on graduation rates, methods for calculating graduation rates, rules for holding schools accountable for high school completion, and state requirements for earning a high school diploma. Included is graduation brief specific to Washington state as well as interactive mapping tools.
