Controversy over Virtual Schools
The private company K12, founded by William Bennett in 1999, has contracts in several states to run virtual charter schools. Funding for several of these schools is in jeopardy due to questions about how the contracts were negotiated. Much of the concern revolves around the alleged use of political connections to land the multi-million dollar contracts.
